Vocab Words

Vocab words are our continuation of mastering all literary terms and figurative language terms this year.  We will be working on these vocab words every week.  Please feel free to post any questions you might have on words or examples, and hopefully you can help each other. 

We are starting the new year with our small group literature books, assigning reading, and completing role sheets every time we read.  We hope to conclude the books within three weeks.

We will also be working on a non-fiction unit, reading short stories, and answering questions on them.

Personal Narrative

Students are beginning to write their personal narratives.  This is a true story about themselves and something that happened in their life.  We are taking small steps to create the final copy due on December 9.  The assignment for today is to create an outline for each paragraph.

Writing Assessment - Cold Write

Today classes worked on the sixth grade second quarter Cold Write.  This is a writing sample that will be examined to let sixth grade teachers know where our students stand on writing.  Students were given the entire period to write on performing random acts of kindness.
